We are searching for a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting to report to our Director, Financial Reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation of the quarterly financial statements and other external financial reports for Loop Energy Inc (TSX: LPEN), the preparation of various internal financial reports and variance analyses for management, assist in the maintenance and testing of internal controls and the preparation of monthly financial reporting requirements to certain of our investors. The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will also provide analysis support for significant transactions that the Company executes and monitor and implement IFRS and TSX requirements and changes, so the successful candidate must be able to manage a dynamic workload.

The successful candidate will perform the following activities:


  • Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidations.
  • Prepare annual and interim financial statements as required by the TSX.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual and interim Management Discussion and Analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Annual Information Form
  • Prepare quarterly variance analysis reports.
  • Perform analysis of accounting data and results reported to internal management and investors.
  • Review and prepare various schedules, account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Prepare interim and annual working papers or schedules for external auditors.
  • Liaise and collaborate with our international offices, internal departments and external auditors.
  • Perform research and interpret IFRS.
  • Monitor and implement IFRS and TSX regulation changes.
  • Assist in the design, maintenance and testing of internal controls required for CEO and CFO certifications.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required by management.
  • Develop, implement and improve accounting processes and procedures.
  • Work cohesively with the team and assist team members as needed.



Position Requirements:


  • University business degree and CPA designation with public practice training.
  • Experience auditing public and/or private companies.
  • Exposure to TSX reporting preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of consolidations and IFRS.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.
  • Exposure to business processes, accounting systems and internal and external reporting preferred.
